The story I wanted to tell was a story of fear and death juxtaposed with innocence and hope. The image of the red moon at night is meant to instill the feelings of darkness, fear, and death with the red of blood. The baby deer is alone and afraid as its mother has been killed, and still surrounded by darkness, with the cool ttones giving it a more morose feeling. The little girl come with innocence and bathed in warm light, bringing a sense of hope in the darkness. The little cottage is meant to represent the girl having compassion on the baby deer and taking it home. The small house evokes warm feelings of home, safety and security. The story skips to the deer as an adult. The photo is bathed in bright light, meant to evoke a sense of joy of accomplishment that the deer has survived its ordeal and grown up. The final photo is a soft, warm sunrise, meant to evoke a sense of hope for the future.
