Resin jewelry

Using UV resin to make jewelry is a more complicated and harder to master option.

Caution should be exercised when using UV resin. Always follow all safety instructions on the packaging. It is recommended that you wear gloves while using resin, as it can be a skin irritant. UV resin should not be kept near children as it is toxic if ingested. DO NOT look directly at the UV lamp while it is on.

Supplies:

  • UV resin
  • Silicone jewelry molds
  • UV lamp (preferred, but UV resin will dry in the sun)
  • Fillers (glitter, small objects, etc.)
  • UV resin coloring (optional)

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find supplies?
All the supplies you need for either type of jewelry can be found at your local craft store.
What type of wire should I get?
Look for a wire that is labeled as a beading wire or beading string. These types of wires will shift instead of holding shape.
Is this craft safe for children
Beaded jewelry can be a child safe activity for older children, but I would not recommend UV resin without adult supervision.
